My piece "When The Blue Sky Weeps" was a reflection of the heavy distress and emotional isolation I experienced during my sophomore year, including the loss of a loved one, rejection, and more. The theme I built the poem around was the recurring image of a weeping blue sky, which acted as a personal metaphor for the varied and tempestuous emotional states I found myself in throughout the year. I utilized poetry and fine art like this work as a method of managing my emotions throughout the year despite the fatiguing nature of Carnegie's sophomore year.
